INGREDIENTS
4 oz Lean Ground Turkey
2 oz Whole Wheat Spaghetti (dry)
1/2 cup Fresh Herb Marinara Sauce
1/4 cup Fresh Basil (chopped)
1 Garlic Clove, minced
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F.
In a small bowl, combine the lean ground turkey with the minced garlic, a pinch of salt and pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil. Mix until just combined and form into small meatballs.
Place the turkey meatballs on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes or until cooked through.
Meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the whole wheat spaghetti and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving a small amount of pasta water.
In a saucepan, gently heat the fresh herb marinara sauce. Stir in the chopped fresh basil and allow to warm through. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water.
Combine the cooked spaghetti with the marinara sauce, and gently fold in the baked turkey meatballs.
Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh basil if desired.
