Enjoy a well-balanced dinner featuring tender, herb-infused baked salmon paired with crispy baked garlic cheese fries made from yams. The dish delivers a delightful mix of savory flavors and a satisfying crunch for a wholesome, gourmet experience.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Salmon Fillet (170g)
75g Yam, cut into fries
0.6 oz Cheddar Cheese (17g)
0.5 tsp Olive Oil
1 clove Garlic
1 tbsp Fresh Herbs (Rosemary & Thyme)
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Place the salmon fillet on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with a small amount of olive oil, and season with minced garlic, fresh herbs (rosemary and thyme), salt, and pepper.
Bake the salmon in the oven for 12-15 minutes, until cooked through and lightly flaky.
While the salmon bakes, prepare the fries by peeling the yam and cutting it into thin fry-shaped pieces.
Toss the yam fries with a little olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Spread them out on a separate baking sheet.
Bake the yam fries in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until they become crisp on the edges, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
Once the fries are nearly done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle a thin layer of shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is slightly melted.
Plate the herb-baked salmon alongside the garlic cheese fries and serve immediately.
