INGREDIENTS
5 oz Lean Ground Turkey (93% lean)
1 Whole Wheat Burger Bun
1 Medium Sweet Potato (~150g)
1 tsp Olive Oil
1 Leaf Lettuce
2 Slices Tomato
Seasonings (Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder)
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 425°F for the sweet potato fries.
Peel and cut the sweet potato into fry-like strips. Toss them in a small amount of olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Spread the sweet potato fries on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through, until crispy.
While the fries are baking, season the ground turkey with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form a 5 oz patty.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the turkey patty for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Toast the whole wheat bun if desired. Assemble the burger by placing the cooked turkey patty on the bun and topping it with lettuce and tomato slices.
Serve the turkey burger alongside the crispy sweet potato fries.
