Creamy Cheesy Chicken and Broccoli Pasta Bake
A comforting and wholesome bake combining tender chicken, whole wheat pasta, crisp broccoli, and a rich cheesy sauce for a balanced meal that's both satisfying and nutritious.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Chicken Breast
1 cup Whole Wheat Pasta (cooked)
1 cup Broccoli
1/4 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/4 cup Low-Fat Milk
1 tsp Olive Oil
2 cloves Garlic
1/2 medium Onion
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Cook whole wheat pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Season the chicken breast with salt and pepper. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chicken until slightly browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove from pan and slice into bite-sized pieces.
In the same skillet, add chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
Add broccoli florets to the skillet and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften.
Reduce heat to low and pour in low-fat milk. Sprinkle in half of the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until slightly melted, forming a light creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine the cooked pasta, chicken, and vegetable mixture in a baking dish. Top evenly with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese on top is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
