Crispy Double Bacon Cheeseburger Delight
Pan-seared lean beef patties layered with melted sharp cheddar and salty bacon, nestled in crisp romaine leaves for a refreshing crunch.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz 93% lean ground beef
2 slice center cut bacon
1 oz sharp cheddar cheese
2 large romaine lettuce leaves
2 slice tomato
1 slice red onion
0.25 tsp sea salt
0.25 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp yellow mustard
4 slice dill pickles
PREPARATION
Place the bacon in a cold non-stick skillet and turn the heat to medium, cooking until the fat renders and the strips are perfectly crispy.
While the bacon cooks, divide the ground beef into two equal portions and shape them into thin patties, slightly wider than the desired finished size.
Season both sides of the patties evenly with the sea salt and black pepper.
Remove the bacon from the pan and set aside on a paper towel; drain all but a small amount of the bacon fat from the skillet.
Increase the heat to medium-high and sear the beef patties for about 3 minutes per side until a deep brown crust forms.
During the last minute of cooking, place the cheddar cheese on top of the patties and cover the pan with a lid to melt it completely.
Lay out the romaine lettuce leaves to act as the base and place one cheesy patty onto each leaf.
Top the patties with the crispy bacon, tomato slices, red onion, dill pickles, and a drizzle of yellow mustard before serving.
