Caramelized Gochujang Beef & Crispy Rice
Sizzling ground beef glazed in a spicy-sweet gochujang sauce served over golden, crispy rice with vibrant green onions and fresh ginger.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Ground beef (93% lean)
0.25 cup Cooked jasmine rice
1 tbsp Gochujang paste
1 tbsp Tamari
0.5 tsp Toasted sesame oil
1 clove Garlic
0.5 tsp Fresh ginger
2 whole Green onions
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
PREPARATION
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with half of the toasted sesame oil.
Press the cooked jasmine rice into a flat layer in the pan and cook undisturbed for 4-5 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy.
Remove the rice and set it aside; in the same pan, add the remaining oil and brown the ground beef with sea salt and black pepper while breaking it into small crumbles.
Stir in minced garlic, grated fresh ginger, and the sliced white parts of the green onions until fragrant.
Whisk together gochujang paste and tamari in a small bowl, then pour over the beef, stirring until the sauce caramelizes and coats the meat.
Serve the savory beef over the crispy rice and garnish with the sliced green onion tops.
