Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a small baking dish or rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper.
Finely dice the yellow onion and mince the garlic clove.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the lean ground beef, egg, almond flour, diced onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, sea salt, and black pepper.
Mix the ingredients by hand until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat which can make it tough.
Shape the mixture into a compact rectangular loaf and place it on the prepared baking dish.
Cut the bacon slice in half and lay both pieces across the top of the meatloaf, tucking the ends slightly underneath.
Brush 1 tablespoon of the sugar-free BBQ sauce over the top of the bacon and meatloaf.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
During the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the remaining 1 tablespoon of BBQ sauce over the top for a tacky, glossy finish.
Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing to ensure it stays juicy.
