Smoky Garlic Sirloin Steak with Roasted Asparagus
Pan-seared sirloin steak infused with smoky garlic notes, served alongside crisp-tender roasted asparagus for a savory and satisfying meal.
INGREDIENTS
4 oz sirloin steak
0.25 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp smoked paprika
0.5 tsp sea salt
0.25 tsp black pepper
1 bunch asparagus
0.5 tsp garlic powder
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Trim the woody ends from the asparagus and place them on the baking sheet.
Drizzle the asparagus with half of the olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and a pinch of the sea salt and black pepper.
Roast the asparagus for 12-15 minutes until tender and slightly charred at the tips.
While the asparagus roasts, season the sirloin steak on both sides with smoked paprika and the remaining sea salt and black pepper.
Heat the remaining olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add the smashed garlic cloves to infuse the oil.
Place the steak in the hot skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your preferred level of doneness.
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain and serving with the roasted asparagus.
