Crispy Honey-Garlic Chicken Bowls
Sautéed chicken breast glazed in a sticky honey-garlic sauce served over fluffy brown rice with vibrant steamed broccoli.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz chicken breast
0.5 cup cooked brown rice
1 cup broccoli florets
0.5 tbsp honey
1 tbsp tamari
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp fresh ginger
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
0.25 tsp sea salt
0.25 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp green onions
0.5 tsp sesame seeds
PREPARATION
Pat the chicken breast dry and cut into bite-sized 1-inch cubes. Season with sea salt and black pepper.
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, tamari, minced garlic, and grated fresh ginger to create the glaze.
Steam the broccoli florets for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp and bright green, then set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and cooked through.
Reduce the heat to medium and pour the honey-garlic sauce over the chicken. Toss well for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken in a sticky glaze.
Remove from heat and stir in the toasted sesame oil for a nutty finish.
Place the warm cooked brown rice in a bowl, top with the glazed chicken and steamed broccoli.
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
