Smoky Texas Brisket with Caramelized Onions
Slow-roasted beef brisket rubbed with smoky spices and topped with silky caramelized onions for a melt-in-your-mouth experience.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Beef brisket
1 tsp Smoked paprika
0.5 tsp Garlic powder
0.5 tsp Onion powder
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
1 medium Yellow onion
0.25 cup Beef bone broth
PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 300°F.
Combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over all sides of the beef brisket.
Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and sear the brisket for 3 minutes per side until a crust forms.
Remove brisket temporarily; add sliced onions to the skillet and sauté for 5 minutes until they begin to soften.
Place the brisket back on top of the onions and pour the beef bone broth into the bottom of the pan.
Cover tightly with foil or a lid and roast in the oven for 3 to 4 hours until the meat is tender.
Slice the brisket against the grain and serve topped with the caramelized onions.
