Sesame Tofu and Broccoli Stir-Fry
Crispy pan-seared tofu and vibrant broccoli florets tossed in a savory ginger-sesame glaze for a satisfying, nutrient-dense meal.
INGREDIENTS
12 oz Firm tofu
0.5 cup Shelled edamame
2 cup Broccoli florets
1 tsp Toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp Tamari
1 tbsp Rice vinegar
1 tsp Honey
1 tsp Grated fresh ginger
1 clove Minced garlic
0.5 tsp Red pepper flakes
1 tsp Toasted sesame seeds
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
PREPARATION
Press the firm tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
In a small bowl, whisk together the tamari, rice vinegar, honey, grated ginger, and minced garlic to create the stir-fry sauce.
Heat the toasted sesame oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and sear until golden brown and crispy on all sides, approximately 8-10 minutes.
Add the broccoli florets and shelled edamame to the pan with a splash of water; cover with a lid and steam for 3 minutes until broccoli is tender-crisp.
Remove the lid and pour the prepared sauce over the tofu and vegetables, tossing well to coat everything evenly.
Season with sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, then continue to cook for 2 more minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.
Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and serve immediately.
