Pan-Seared Pork Cutlet with Apple Chutney
Pan-seared lean pork cutlets topped with a warm, cinnamon-spiced apple chutney and served alongside crisp-tender steamed green beans.
INGREDIENTS
8 oz Pork loin cutlets
2 tsp Olive oil
0.5 medium Gala apple
2 tbsp Red onion
1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
1 tsp Maple syrup
0.25 tsp Ground cinnamon
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 cup Green beans
PREPARATION
Season the pork cutlets evenly with half of the sea salt and black pepper.
Heat one teaspoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the pork for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the pork from the pan and set it aside on a plate to rest.
In the same skillet, add the remaining teaspoon of olive oil along with the diced apple and minced red onion, sautéing for 3 minutes until softened.
Stir in the apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and the remaining salt and pepper, simmering for 2 minutes until the mixture becomes a thick, glossy chutney.
While the chutney finishes, steam the green beans in a steamer basket over boiling water for 5 minutes until they are bright green and crisp-tender.
Place the pork cutlets on a plate, generously spoon the warm apple chutney over the top, and serve with the steamed green beans.
