Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
Finely mince the mushrooms and yellow onion to ensure they blend seamlessly into the meat for moisture.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, almond meal, minced mushrooms, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
Mix gently by hand until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat which can make it tough.
Shape the mixture into a compact loaf shape on the prepared baking sheet.
Lay the bacon slices over the top of the loaf, tucking the ends underneath to secure them.
Bake for 25 minutes in the center of the oven.
Remove the loaf briefly to brush the top and sides generously with the sugar-free BBQ sauce.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the bacon is crisp.
Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
