Sesame Tofu and Broccoli Stir-Fry
Pan-seared extra firm tofu and crisp broccoli florets tossed in a fragrant ginger-sesame glaze for a savory and satisfying crunch.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Extra firm tofu
0.5 cup Shelled edamame
1.5 cups Broccoli florets
0.25 tsp Avocado oil
0.25 tsp Toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp Tamari
1 tsp Fresh ginger
1 clove Garlic
0.5 tsp Sesame seeds
0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes
1 tbsp Water
PREPARATION
Remove the tofu from its packaging and press between paper towels for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
In a small bowl, whisk together the tamari, grated fresh ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes to create the stir-fry sauce.
Heat the avocado oil in a large non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the tofu cubes to the skillet in a single layer and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Add the broccoli florets, shelled edamame, and 1 tablespoon of water to the skillet. Cover with a lid for 2 minutes to steam the vegetables until tender-crisp.
Remove the lid and pour the tamari sauce mixture over the tofu and vegetables, tossing constantly for 1 minute until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
Remove from heat and drizzle with the toasted sesame oil.
Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
