Mozzarella Stick Stuffed Burger
Juicy grass-fed beef patties stuffed with a melty mozzarella core and seared until golden, served on a toasted sprouted bun with crisp garden toppings.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Ground beef (93% lean)
1 whole Mozzarella string cheese
0.5 whole Sprouted grain bun
1 slice Tomato
1 leaf Romaine lettuce
1 slice Red onion
0.5 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
0.25 tsp Avocado oil
PREPARATION
Divide the ground beef into two equal portions and flatten them into thin, wide patties.
Cut the mozzarella string cheese into three smaller segments and place them in the center of one beef patty.
Place the second beef patty on top and pinch the edges together very tightly to ensure the cheese is fully encased.
Season both sides of the stuffed patty with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat the avocado oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Place the burger in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the beef is cooked through and the cheese inside has melted.
While the burger rests for 2 minutes, lightly toast the sprouted grain bun in the same skillet until the edges are golden.
Assemble the burger by placing the patty on the bottom bun and layering with lettuce, tomato, and red onion before closing with the top bun.
