Double Bacon Cheeseburger with Caramelized Onions
Pan-seared lean beef patties stacked with crispy turkey bacon and melted cheddar, topped with sweet caramelized onions for a savory, melt-in-your-mouth experience.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Ground beef (93% lean)
1 slice Turkey bacon
0.5 slice Sharp cheddar cheese
0.5 cup Yellow onion
0 tsp Olive oil
2 large Butter lettuce leaves
1 slice Tomato
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Yellow mustard
PREPARATION
Thinly slice the yellow onion. Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium-low heat and cook the onions, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and sweet.
While onions cook, place the turkey bacon in a separate skillet over medium heat. Cook until browned and crispy, then set aside on a paper towel.
Divide the ground beef into two equal portions and form into thin patties. Season both sides of each patty with sea salt and black pepper.
Increase the heat of the bacon skillet to medium-high. Sear the beef patties for 3-4 minutes per side.
During the last minute of cooking, place the cheddar cheese slice over one patty and stack the second patty on top to melt the cheese.
Lay out the butter lettuce leaves to act as the base. Place the double patty stack on the lettuce, followed by the crispy turkey bacon, caramelized onions, and tomato slice.
Drizzle with yellow mustard and wrap the lettuce tightly around the burger to serve.
