Sesame Tofu and Broccoli Stir-Fry
Crispy pan-seared tofu and vibrant broccoli florets tossed in a savory ginger-sesame glaze for a satisfyingly crunchy texture.
INGREDIENTS
10 oz extra firm tofu
0.5 cup shelled edamame
2 cup broccoli florets
2 tbsp hemp hearts
0 tbsp toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp tamari
1 tsp fresh ginger
1 clove garlic
0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp sesame seeds
PREPARATION
Wrap the extra firm tofu in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy skillet on top for 10 minutes to press out excess moisture.
Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
Heat the toasted sesame oil in a large non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and sear for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until all sides are golden brown.
Toss in the broccoli florets and shelled edamame, adding a splash of water to help steam the vegetables for 3-4 minutes until tender-bright.
In a small bowl, whisk together the tamari, minced ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
Pour the sauce over the tofu and vegetables, stirring constantly for 1 minute until the glaze thickens and coats everything evenly.
Remove from heat and stir in the hemp hearts and sesame seeds before serving.
