Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks
Baked whole wheat and Greek yogurt dough strips seasoned with aromatic garlic and nutty Parmesan cheese for a chewy, protein-packed snack.
INGREDIENTS
0.75 cup Non-fat Greek yogurt
0.33 cup Whole wheat flour
1 tsp Baking powder
0.25 tsp Sea salt
2 tbsp Nutritional yeast
1.5 oz Parmesan cheese
2 cloves Garlic
1 tsp Dried oregano
1 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp Fresh parsley
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, whole wheat flour, baking powder, sea salt, and nutritional yeast until a shaggy dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 1-2 minutes until the dough is smooth and no longer sticky.
Roll the dough out into a rectangle roughly 1/2 inch thick, then use a knife or pizza cutter to slice it into 6 even strips.
Mince the garlic cloves and whisk them together in a small bowl with the olive oil, dried oregano, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
Place the dough strips on the prepared baking sheet and brush the garlic oil mixture generously over the top of each one.
Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the breadsticks and bake for 12-15 minutes until they are golden brown and firm.
Finely chop the fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the hot breadsticks before serving.
