Mozzarella Stick Beef Burger with Marinara
Pan-seared lean beef patty topped with melted mozzarella sticks and rich marinara sauce, served on a toasted bun for a satisfyingly gooey experience.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Grass-fed ground beef (93% lean)
2 whole Part-skim mozzarella cheese sticks
1 whole Whole wheat sandwich thin
0.25 cup Organic marinara sauce
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
0.25 tsp Dried oregano
0 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
1 cup Organic baby spinach
PREPARATION
In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef with sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried oregano until just incorporated.
Form the seasoned beef into one large, even patty approximately half an inch thick.
Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the patty for 4 to 5 minutes.
While the burger cooks, slice the mozzarella cheese sticks in half lengthwise to create four long strips.
Flip the patty and place the mozzarella strips side-by-side on top; cover the skillet with a lid for 2 minutes to melt the cheese thoroughly.
Warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat until it begins to simmer.
Toast the whole wheat sandwich thin in a toaster or on the edge of the skillet until lightly golden.
Layer the baby spinach on the bottom bun, place the cheesy beef patty on top, and finish with a generous pour of warm marinara sauce before adding the top bun.
