Double Bacon Cheeseburger with Caramelized Onions
Pan-seared grass-fed beef patties stacked with crispy uncured bacon and golden caramelized onions, served on a toasted sprouted bun with a melt-in-your-mouth finish.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Ground beef 93% lean
0 slices Uncured bacon
0 slice Sharp cheddar cheese
0.5 medium Yellow onion
0 tsp Avocado oil
1 whole Sprouted grain bun
1 leaf Butter lettuce
1 slice Tomato
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
PREPARATION
Thinly slice the onion and heat avocado oil in a skillet over medium-low heat.
Sauté onions for 15-20 minutes until deeply golden and caramelized; remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, cook bacon until crispy, then drain on a paper towel.
Divide beef into two 2.5oz portions, form into thin patties, and season both sides with sea salt and black pepper.
Increase heat to medium-high and sear the patties for 2-3 minutes per side.
Place the cheese slice on one patty during the last minute of cooking and stack the other patty on top to melt.
Toast the sprouted bun lightly in the pan juices.
Assemble the burger by layering lettuce, tomato, the double patties, bacon, and caramelized onions.
