Double Bacon Cheeseburger with Caramelized Onions
Pan-seared lean beef patties topped with sharp cheddar and crispy bacon, nestled in a toasted bun with sweet, golden caramelized onions.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz 93% Lean ground beef
0 slices Center-cut bacon
0 slice Sharp cheddar cheese
0.5 medium Yellow onion
0 tsp Olive oil
1 whole Sprouted grain bun
1 large Romaine lettuce leaf
2 slices Tomato
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 tbsp Yellow mustard
PREPARATION
Slice the yellow onion into thin half-moons.
Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium-low heat, add onions, and cook until deeply caramelized and golden, about 15-20 minutes.
In another skillet, cook the bacon slices until crispy, then set aside on a paper towel to drain.
Shape the lean ground beef into two equal, thin patties and season both sides with sea salt and black pepper.
Sear the patties in the bacon skillet over medium-high heat for 3 minutes per side until a crust forms.
Place the cheddar cheese on one patty and stack the other patty on top during the last minute of cooking to melt the cheese.
Lightly toast the sprouted grain bun and assemble with yellow mustard, lettuce, tomato, the double patties, bacon, and caramelized onions.
