Sesame Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry
Thinly sliced flank steak and crisp broccoli florets are flash-seared in an aromatic sesame-ginger glaze for a nutrient-dense and satisfying meal.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Flank steak
1.5 cups Broccoli florets
0.5 cup Cooked brown rice
1 tsp Sesame oil
1 tbsp Tamari
1 tsp Honey
1 tsp Fresh ginger
1 clove Garlic
0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes
1 tsp Sesame seeds
1 tbsp Water
1 tsp Arrowroot powder
PREPARATION
Slice the flank steak against the grain into very thin strips.
In a small bowl, whisk together the tamari, honey, grated fresh ginger, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, water, and arrowroot powder until smooth.
Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Add the beef strips in a single layer and sear for 1-2 minutes until browned, then transfer the beef to a clean plate.
Add the broccoli florets and a splash of water to the same skillet; cover with a lid and steam for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
Return the beef to the skillet and pour the prepared sauce over the mixture.
Toss the ingredients constantly for 1 minute until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze that coats the beef and broccoli.
Serve the stir-fry immediately over the warm cooked brown rice and garnish with sesame seeds.
