Baked Beef Milanesa with Herbs
Lean beef steaks are breaded in herbed whole wheat panko and baked until golden and crispy, served with a side of snap-fresh green beans.
INGREDIENTS
4 oz Beef top round steak
1 large Egg
0.25 cup Whole wheat panko breadcrumbs
0.5 tsp Garlic powder
0.5 tsp Dried oregano
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Olive oil
1 cup Green beans
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the beef steaks between two pieces of parchment paper and use a meat mallet to pound them until they are an even 1/4-inch thickness.
In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg until smooth.
In a separate shallow dish, combine the whole wheat panko, garlic powder, dried oregano, sea salt, and black pepper.
Dip each piece of beef into the egg wash to coat both sides, then press firmly into the panko mixture until fully crusted.
Arrange the breaded steaks on the prepared baking sheet and lightly drizzle or mist with the olive oil.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping the steaks halfway through, until the exterior is golden brown and the beef is cooked through.
While the beef bakes, steam the green beans for 5 to 6 minutes until tender-crisp and serve immediately alongside the milanesa.
