Gourmet Triple-Decker Turkey and Sharp Cheddar Melt
Three slices of sprouted grain bread are griddled until golden and crisp, layered with sharp cheddar and lean turkey breast for a satisfying, protein-packed bite.
INGREDIENTS
3 slice thin-sliced sprouted grain bread
1 oz sharp cheddar cheese
0.5 oz low-moisture mozzarella cheese
4.5 oz nitrate-free turkey breast
1 tsp ghee
0.25 tsp garlic powder
0.25 tsp dried oregano
2 slice tomato
0.5 cup baby spinach
PREPARATION
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and add the ghee to coat the surface.
Season the turkey breast slices evenly with garlic powder and dried oregano.
Place two slices of bread into the skillet. Top the first slice with the sharp cheddar, half of the turkey, and the tomato slices.
Top the second slice of bread with the mozzarella, the remaining turkey, and the baby spinach.
Place the third slice of bread on top of the second slice (the mozzarella/spinach stack). Once the bottom of that stack is toasted, carefully flip the entire double-stack onto the first slice (the cheddar/tomato stack).
Press down gently with a spatula to help the layers adhere and the cheese melt.
Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, flipping carefully, until the bread is crunchy and the cheese is fully melted through all three layers.
Remove from the pan, let it rest for one minute, and slice diagonally to serve.
