Grilled Caprese Sandwich with Balsamic Glaze
Pan-seared chicken breast and creamy mozzarella melted between crusty sourdough slices, finished with a sweet balsamic drizzle for a perfectly crisp and savory bite.
INGREDIENTS
4 oz Chicken breast
2 slice Sourdough bread
0.75 oz Fresh mozzarella cheese
2 slice Tomato
4 leaf Fresh basil
1 tsp Balsamic glaze
0.25 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
PREPARATION
Season the chicken breast evenly with sea salt and black pepper.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with half of the olive oil and cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove the chicken from the pan and slice it into thin, even strips.
Brush the outside of the sourdough slices with the remaining olive oil.
Layer the bottom slice of bread with the sliced chicken, fresh mozzarella, tomato slices, and fresh basil leaves.
Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the basil and place the second slice of bread on top.
Place the sandwich back into the skillet over medium heat, grilling for 3-4 minutes per side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
