Sticky BBQ Baby Back Ribs
Slow-roasted baby back ribs glazed in a sticky, date-sweetened sauce and served with vibrant steamed broccoli for a tender and satisfying meal.
INGREDIENTS
12 oz baby back ribs
1 tsp avocado oil
1 tsp smoked paprika
0.5 tsp garlic powder
0.5 tsp onion powder
0.25 tsp sea salt
0.25 tsp black pepper
3 tbsp sugar-free BBQ sauce
2 cup broccoli florets
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Remove the thin membrane (silver skin) from the back of the ribs using a paper towel for grip.
Coat the ribs with avocado oil and rub evenly with the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
Wrap the ribs tightly in parchment paper followed by a layer of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
Place on a baking sheet and roast for 2 hours until the meat is very tender and begins to pull away from the bone.
In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar-free BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar.
Carefully open the foil, brush the ribs generously with the BBQ sauce mixture, and place under the broiler for 3 to 5 minutes until bubbly and caramelized.
While the ribs rest for 5 minutes, steam the broccoli florets until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
Slice the ribs between the bones and serve immediately alongside the steamed broccoli.
