Golden whole-wheat dough baked with a gooey cheese-stuffed crust and topped with aromatic basil, served alongside a creamy and savory onion dip.
INGREDIENTS
0.5 cup Non-fat Greek yogurt
0.5 cup Whole wheat flour
0.5 tsp Baking powder
0.25 tsp Sea salt
1.5 oz Part-skim mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp Tomato sauce
1 oz Fresh mozzarella pearls
0.5 cup Non-fat Greek yogurt
1 tsp Dried minced onion
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Fresh basil leaves
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, stir together 0.5 cup of Greek yogurt, whole wheat flour, baking powder, and sea salt until a dough forms.
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it into a 10-inch circle.
Place the part-skim mozzarella cheese around the perimeter of the dough, about half an inch from the edge.
Fold the edge of the dough over the cheese and press firmly to seal the stuffed crust.
Spread the tomato sauce over the center of the pizza and top with the fresh mozzarella pearls.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
While the pizza bakes, whisk together the remaining 0.5 cup of Greek yogurt, dried minced onion, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small bowl.
Remove the pizza from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve immediately with the onion dip on the side.
