Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a small mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped fresh basil, almond flour, lemon zest, and half of the sea salt and black pepper to create the crust mixture.
Pat the halibut fillet dry with a paper towel and season both sides with the remaining salt and pepper.
Heat 0.5 tbsp of olive oil in an oven-safe non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Place the halibut in the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes until a golden crust forms on the bottom.
Carefully flip the fish, then press the basil-almond mixture firmly onto the seared top of the fillet.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 5-8 minutes, or until the halibut is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
While the fish bakes, heat the remaining 0.5 tbsp of olive oil in a separate skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and asparagus spears to the skillet, sautéing for 4-5 minutes until the asparagus is crisp-tender.
Remove the asparagus from heat and toss with the fresh lemon juice.
Serve the basil-crusted halibut immediately alongside the lemon-infused asparagus.
