Classic Beer-Battered Cod with Chips
Flaky cod fillets dipped in a light, bubbly beer batter and air-fried alongside crisp, golden potato wedges for a healthier take on a pub classic.
INGREDIENTS
8 oz Cod fillet
1 medium Russet potato
2 tbsp All-purpose flour
2 tbsp Light beer
1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
0.25 tsp Paprika
1 wedge Lemon
PREPARATION
Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
Slice the potato into 1/2-inch thick wedges, toss with 0.5 tbsp olive oil and a pinch of sea salt.
Air fry potato wedges for 15-20 minutes until golden and crisp, shaking the basket halfway through.
While potatoes cook, whisk together flour, beer, garlic powder, and paprika in a small bowl until a thick, smooth batter forms.
Pat cod fillets dry with a paper towel and season with sea salt and black pepper.
Dip cod into the batter, coating all sides, and lightly mist or brush with the remaining 0.5 tbsp olive oil.
Place cod in the air fryer and cook at 375°F for 10-12 minutes until the coating is crispy and fish flakes easily.
Serve the hot fish and chips with a fresh lemon wedge.
