Double Bacon Cheeseburger with Caramelized Onions
Pan-seared lean beef patties layered with crispy turkey bacon and sweet caramelized onions, served in crisp lettuce wraps for a juicy and satisfying bite.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Ground beef (93% lean)
1 slice Turkey bacon
0.5 slice Sharp cheddar cheese
0.5 cup Yellow onion
0.25 tsp Avocado oil
2 large Butter lettuce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
PREPARATION
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat with the avocado oil.
Add the thinly sliced yellow onions and cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and caramelized.
Remove the onions from the pan and cook the turkey bacon in the same skillet until crispy, then set aside.
Increase the heat to medium-high. Divide the ground beef into two equal 3-ounce portions and form into thin patties.
Season both sides of the patties with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Sear the patties for 3-4 minutes per side. During the last minute of cooking, place half a slice of cheddar on each patty and cover the pan to melt the cheese.
Lay out the butter lettuce leaves and spread with Dijon mustard.
Stack the two patties, the crispy turkey bacon, and the caramelized onions inside the lettuce wraps and serve immediately.
