Pan-Seared Tuna Cakes with Lemon Aioli
Golden pan-seared tuna cakes made with crisp bell peppers and almond flour, served with a bright and creamy lemon-garlic aioli.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Canned tuna
1 large Egg
2 tbsp Almond flour
2 tbsp Green onion
2 tbsp Red bell pepper
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
2 tsp Avocado oil
0.25 cup Plain Greek yogurt
1 tbsp Lemon juice
0.5 tsp Garlic powder
1 tsp Fresh parsley
PREPARATION
Drain the canned tuna thoroughly and place it in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
Add the egg, almond flour, chopped green onion, diced red bell pepper, Dijon mustard, sea salt, and black pepper to the bowl.
Mix all the ingredients until well combined and form the mixture into three or four even-sized patties.
Heat the avocado oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Carefully place the tuna patties in the skillet and sear for 3 to 4 minutes per side until they are golden brown and firm to the touch.
While the cakes are cooking, whisk together the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic powder, and fresh parsley in a small bowl to create the aioli.
Serve the warm tuna cakes immediately with a generous dollop of the creamy lemon aioli on top.
