Honey-Garlic Tofu with Steamed Rice
Pan-seared tofu cubes glazed in a sticky honey-garlic sauce, served over fluffy steamed rice with vibrant green edamame for a satisfying crunch.
INGREDIENTS
9 oz Extra firm tofu
0.75 cup Shelled edamame
0.13 cup Cooked jasmine rice
0.5 tsp Toasted sesame oil
1 tsp Honey
1 tbsp Tamari
2 cloves Garlic
0.5 tsp Fresh ginger
0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes
0.5 tbsp Arrowroot powder
1 stalk Green onion
1 tbsp Water
PREPARATION
Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
Toss the tofu cubes in arrowroot powder until evenly coated.
Heat sesame oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and sear tofu until golden and crisp on all sides.
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, tamari, minced garlic, grated ginger, red pepper flakes, and water.
Add the shelled edamame to the skillet with the tofu and pour the sauce over the top.
Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze that coats the tofu.
Serve the honey-garlic tofu and edamame over the warm steamed rice and garnish with sliced green onions.
