Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, whisk together the tamari, honey, grated fresh ginger, and minced garlic to create the glaze.
Toss the asparagus spears with half of the toasted sesame oil, a pinch of sea salt, and black pepper on the prepared baking sheet.
Roast the asparagus in the oven for 10-12 minutes until they are tender yet still have a slight snap.
While the asparagus roasts, season the salmon fillet with the remaining sea salt and black pepper.
Heat the remaining sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Place the salmon in the pan, flesh-side down, and sear for 4 minutes until a golden crust forms.
Flip the salmon and pour the ginger-tamari glaze into the pan, allowing it to bubble and thicken for 3-4 minutes while the salmon finishes cooking.
Plate the roasted asparagus and top with the glazed salmon, drizzling any remaining sauce from the pan over the fish.
Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
