Place the chicken breast between two pieces of parchment paper and pound to an even half-inch thickness.
In a shallow bowl, whisk the half egg until smooth.
In a separate shallow dish, combine the almond flour, 1 tablespoon of parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Dip the chicken breast into the egg wash, allowing any excess to drip off, then dredge it through the almond flour mixture, pressing firmly to ensure an even coating.
Place the breaded chicken on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the tray from the oven and spoon the marinara sauce over the center of the chicken.
Top with the mozzarella cheese and the remaining tablespoon of parmesan cheese.
Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Garnish with thinly sliced fresh basil before serving.
