INGREDIENTS
4 oz Ground turkey
1.5 oz Whole wheat ziti
0.25 cup Part-skim ricotta cheese
0.5 oz Part-skim mozzarella cheese
0.5 cup Marinara sauce
1 cup Fresh spinach
1 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
0.25 tsp Dried oregano
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the whole wheat ziti until al dente, then drain and set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground turkey, breaking it up with a spoon until browned.
Season the turkey with the sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
Stir the fresh spinach into the skillet and cook until just wilted, then pour in the marinara sauce and simmer for 2 minutes.
In a small baking dish, combine the cooked ziti with the turkey and marinara mixture until well coated.
Place dollops of the part-skim ricotta across the top and sprinkle evenly with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbling.
