Sesame Tofu and Broccoli Stir-Fry
Crisp-tender tofu and vibrant broccoli florets are wok-seared in a savory ginger-garlic sauce, delivering a satisfying crunch in every bite.
INGREDIENTS
8 oz Super firm tofu
1 cup Broccoli florets
0.5 cup Shelled edamame
0.25 tbsp Avocado oil
0.5 tsp Toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp Tamari
1 tbsp Rice vinegar
1 tsp Fresh ginger
2 cloves Garlic
1 tsp Sesame seeds
0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes
1 stalk Green onion
PREPARATION
Remove the tofu from its packaging and pat thoroughly dry with a clean towel. Cut the tofu into 1-inch uniform cubes.
In a small glass bowl, whisk together the tamari, rice vinegar, grated fresh ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes to create the stir-fry sauce.
Heat the avocado oil in a large non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once shimmering, add the tofu cubes in a single layer.
Sear the tofu for 3-4 minutes per side until each edge is golden brown and crisp. Remove the tofu from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add the broccoli florets and shelled edamame with two tablespoons of water. Cover immediately with a lid to steam for 2 minutes until the broccoli is bright green.
Remove the lid and return the tofu to the pan. Pour the prepared sauce over the ingredients and toss constantly for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
Remove from heat and drizzle with the toasted sesame oil. Garnish with sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onions before serving.
