Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Fluffy Biscuits
Crispy air-fried chicken breast marinated in tangy buttermilk, served alongside a warm, flaky whole-grain biscuit for a comforting and golden crunch.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz chicken breast
2 tbsp buttermilk
2 tbsp almond flour
1 tbsp arrowroot powder
0.5 tsp garlic powder
0.5 tsp onion powder
0.25 tsp sea salt
0.25 tsp black pepper
0.25 tsp paprika
1 tsp avocado oil
1 medium whole wheat biscuit
PREPARATION
Place the chicken breast in a shallow bowl and pour the buttermilk over it, ensuring it is fully coated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond flour, arrowroot powder, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, black pepper, and paprika.
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dredge it through the flour mixture until evenly encrusted.
Lightly coat the air fryer basket with half of the avocado oil and place the chicken inside, spraying the top of the chicken with the remaining oil.
Air fry at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 18 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the exterior is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
Warm the whole wheat biscuit in the oven or air fryer for 2 minutes and serve immediately alongside the hot chicken.
