Pan-Seared Chicken with Sautéed Tatsoi and Mushrooms
Pan-seared chicken breast served over a bed of earthy sautéed mushrooms and vibrant tatsoi finished with a silky sesame-tamari glaze.
INGREDIENTS
5.5 oz Chicken breast
1 tbsp Olive oil
1 cup Shiitake mushrooms
2 cup Tatsoi
1 clove Garlic
1 tbsp Tamari
1 tsp Toasted sesame oil
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
PREPARATION
Season the chicken breast evenly on both sides with the sea salt and black pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a large stainless steel or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Place the chicken in the pan and sear for 6 to 7 minutes per side until the exterior is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes to retain its juices.
In the same skillet, add the sliced shiitake mushrooms and sauté for 4 minutes until they become tender and browned.
Add the minced garlic and the tatsoi to the pan, tossing constantly for 1 to 2 minutes until the leaves are just wilted.
Whisk the tamari and toasted sesame oil in a small bowl, then pour the mixture over the vegetables in the pan to deglaze.
Slice the rested chicken into strips and serve immediately over the warm sautéed tatsoi and mushroom medley.
