Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Honey Drizzle
Air-fried chicken breast soaked in tangy buttermilk and coated in a crisp whole-wheat crust, finished with a sweet honey drizzle for a satisfying crunch.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Chicken breast
0.25 cup Low-fat buttermilk
2 tbsp Whole wheat flour
1 tbsp Almond flour
0.5 tsp Smoked paprika
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
0.25 tsp Onion powder
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Avocado oil
1 tbsp Raw honey
PREPARATION
Place the chicken breast in a shallow bowl and pour the buttermilk over it, ensuring it is fully submerged; marinate for at least 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, almond flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess liquid to drip off, then dredge it thoroughly in the flour mixture until evenly coated on all sides.
Lightly coat an air fryer basket with half of the avocado oil and place the chicken inside, spraying the top of the chicken with the remaining oil.
Air fry at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the exterior is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Remove the chicken from the air fryer and immediately drizzle with raw honey while still hot to serve.
