Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat, approximately 400°F.
Finely mince the garlic clove and chop the fresh dill and parsley.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, dill, and parsley to create the marinade.
Trim the woody ends off the asparagus spears and place them on a tray alongside the salmon fillet.
Brush the herb marinade generously over both sides of the salmon and toss the asparagus in the remaining mixture until well coated.
Season both the salmon and asparagus evenly with sea salt and black pepper.
Place the salmon on the grill skin-side down first; grill for about 4-5 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 145°F and the flesh flakes easily.
Add the asparagus to the grill at the same time as the salmon, cooking for 3-5 minutes while turning occasionally until tender-crisp with light char marks.
Remove from the heat and serve the salmon immediately alongside the grilled asparagus.
