Double Bacon Cheeseburger with Caramelized Onions
Searing lean beef patties topped with smoky bacon and velvety caramelized onions, served in a crisp butter lettuce wrap.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Ground beef (93% lean)
1 slices Center-cut bacon
1 slices Thin-sliced sharp cheddar cheese
0.5 medium Yellow onion
0.25 tbsp Avocado oil
2 large Butter lettuce leaves
1 slice Tomato
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Balsamic vinegar
PREPARATION
Slice the onion thinly. Heat 0.25 tbsp avocado oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes until golden and soft. Splash with balsamic vinegar at the end.
While onions cook, cook the bacon slices in a separate pan until crispy. Drain on a paper towel.
Divide the ground beef into two 3-oz portions and shape into thin patties. Season both sides with sea salt and black pepper.
Wipe the bacon pan and add the remaining 0.25 tbsp avocado oil over medium-high heat.
Sear the patties for 3-4 minutes per side. During the last minute, place one cheese slice on each patty.
Stack the patties on top of each other to help the cheese melt.
Wash and dry the butter lettuce leaves to use as the bun.
Place the double patty stack onto the lettuce, top with the crispy bacon, caramelized onions, and tomato slice.
Wrap the lettuce tightly around the burger and serve immediately.
