Pan-Seared Ahi Tuna with Wasabi Mayo
Fresh ahi tuna steaks pan-seared to a buttery rare finish and served with a zesty wasabi-infused avocado oil mayo.
INGREDIENTS
7 oz Ahi tuna steak
1 tsp Avocado oil
1 tbsp Avocado oil mayonnaise
1 tsp Wasabi paste
1 tbsp Coconut aminos
1 tsp Black sesame seeds
1 cup Arugula
0.5 cup Cucumber
0.13 tsp Sea salt
0.13 tsp Black pepper
PREPARATION
Pat the tuna steak dry with paper towels and season both sides with sea salt and black pepper.
In a small bowl, whisk together the avocado oil mayonnaise and wasabi paste until smooth and creamy.
Heat the avocado oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Place the tuna in the hot skillet and sear for 60 to 90 seconds per side for a perfect rare center.
Remove the tuna from the pan and let it rest for 2 minutes before slicing into thin strips across the grain.
Arrange the arugula and sliced cucumbers on a plate, top with the sliced tuna, and drizzle with coconut aminos.
Garnish with black sesame seeds and serve with a dollop of the prepared wasabi mayo.
