Preheat your oven to 300°F and line a baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil.
Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs using a paper towel for grip, then pat the meat dry.
In a small bowl, whisk together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
Rub the spice blend generously over both sides of the ribs, pressing it into the meat to adhere.
Wrap the ribs tightly in the foil, seam-side up, and bake for 2 hours until the meat is tender and starting to pull away from the bone.
While the ribs bake, whisk the unsweetened BBQ sauce and honey in a small bowl to create the glaze.
Remove the ribs from the oven, carefully open the foil, and brush the top of the ribs with the honey-BBQ glaze.
Set the oven to broil and place the ribs back in for 3 to 5 minutes until the glaze is bubbly and slightly caramelized.
Toss the asparagus with olive oil and a pinch of salt, then roast at 400°F for 10 minutes while the ribs rest before serving.
