Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks with Marinara
Oven-baked breadsticks crafted from a high-protein Greek yogurt dough, topped with bubbly melted mozzarella and served with a zesty herb-infused marinara sauce.
INGREDIENTS
0.75 cup Plain non-fat Greek yogurt
0.5 cup Self-rising flour
1 large Egg white
2 oz Part-skim shredded mozzarella cheese
0.25 cup No-sugar-added marinara sauce
1 tsp Garlic powder
0.5 tsp Sea salt
1 tsp Dried oregano
0.5 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
1 clove Garlic
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, self-rising flour, egg white, garlic powder, and sea salt until a thick dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 1 to 2 minutes until the texture is smooth and no longer sticky.
Roll the dough into a rectangle about half an inch thick and cut into 6 even strips.
Place the strips on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small dish, mix the extra virgin olive oil with the minced fresh garlic and brush the mixture over the top of each dough strip.
Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and dried oregano over the breadsticks.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the breadsticks are firm and the cheese has turned a beautiful golden brown.
Serve immediately with the marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
