Classic Beef Burger with Cheddar
Pan-seared lean beef patty topped with melted sharp cheddar and crisp garden vegetables on a toasted sprouted grain bun.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Ground beef (93% lean)
0.5 oz Sharp cheddar cheese
1 whole Sprouted grain bun
1 leaf Butter lettuce
1 slice Tomato
1 slice Red onion
0.5 tsp Avocado oil
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Dijon mustard
PREPARATION
Form the ground beef into a single uniform patty, about 1-inch thick, and season both sides evenly with sea salt and black pepper.
Heat the avocado oil in a cast-iron skillet or stainless steel pan over medium-high heat until the oil is shimmering.
Place the patty in the hot skillet and sear for 3 to 4 minutes until a deep brown crust has formed.
Flip the burger and immediately place the cheddar cheese slice on top of the cooked side.
Cover the pan with a lid for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the cheese to melt while the burger finishes cooking to your desired doneness.
While the burger rests for a minute, lightly toast the sprouted grain bun in the same pan or a toaster.
Spread the Dijon mustard on the bottom bun, then layer the butter lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
Place the cheesy beef patty on top of the vegetables and close the burger with the top bun.
