Double Bacon Cheeseburger
Double beef patties seared until juicy and layered with sharp cheddar and crispy turkey bacon on a toasted sprouted bun.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Ground beef (93% lean)
2 slices Turkey bacon
0 slice Sharp cheddar cheese
1 whole Sprouted grain sandwich thin
1 leaf Romaine lettuce
2 slices Tomato
1 slice Red onion
1 tbsp Yellow mustard
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
PREPARATION
Divide the ground beef into two equal 3-ounce portions and shape them into thin, even patties.
Season both sides of each patty with the sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the turkey bacon until it is crispy and golden.
Remove the bacon from the skillet and increase the heat to medium-high; add the beef patties and sear for 3 minutes.
Flip the patties and place half of the cheddar cheese slice on each, cooking for another 3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the meat is cooked through.
Lightly toast the sprouted grain sandwich thin in the skillet or a toaster until warm.
Assemble the burger by spreading mustard on the bottom bun, then layering the lettuce, tomato, onion, both beef patties, and the crispy bacon before closing with the top bun.
