Classic Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
Thinly sliced sirloin sautéed with crisp bell peppers and onions, tucked into a toasted sprouted grain roll with melted provolone cheese.
INGREDIENTS
4 oz Top sirloin steak
0.5 whole Sprouted grain hoagie roll
0.5 slice Provolone cheese
0.5 cup Green bell pepper
0.5 cup Yellow onion
0.25 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
PREPARATION
Place the steak in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm up, then slice it into very thin strips against the grain.
Heat half of the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and sauté the sliced onions and peppers until they are tender and slightly charred.
Remove the vegetables from the pan, add the remaining oil, and sear the steak strips with salt, pepper, and garlic powder until browned.
Toss the vegetables back into the skillet with the meat, top with the provolone slice, and cover for 30 seconds until the cheese is gooey.
Scoop the mixture into the toasted sprouted grain roll and serve immediately.
