Pan-Seared Steak with Garlic Herb Butter
Pan-seared grass-fed sirloin basted in a fragrant garlic-herb butter and served with crisp-tender roasted asparagus for a savory, restaurant-quality finish.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Top sirloin steak
1 tbsp Grass-fed butter
1 clove Garlic
0.5 tsp Fresh rosemary
0.5 tsp Fresh thyme
1 tsp Avocado oil
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 cup Asparagus spears
PREPARATION
Pat the steak completely dry with paper towels and season both sides evenly with sea salt and black pepper.
Heat the avocado oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it begins to shimmer.
Place the steak in the hot skillet and sear for 4 to 5 minutes without moving it to develop a deep golden crust.
Flip the steak and add the butter, minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the side of the pan.
Tilt the skillet slightly and use a large spoon to continuously pour the melting herb butter over the steak for the final 2 minutes of cooking.
Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for at least 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
While the steak rests, add the asparagus to the same skillet and sauté in the remaining herb butter for 3 to 4 minutes until tender.
Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately alongside the buttery asparagus.
