Classic Carnival Corn Dogs
Air-fried turkey hot dogs coated in a golden, honey-sweetened cornmeal batter for a nostalgic carnival treat.
INGREDIENTS
3 whole organic turkey hot dogs
0.33 cup yellow cornmeal
2 tbsp oat flour
1 large egg
0.25 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp honey
0.5 tsp baking powder
0.25 tsp sea salt
0.25 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp avocado oil
PREPARATION
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
Pat the turkey hot dogs completely dry with a paper towel and insert a wooden skewer into the end of each dog.
In a tall glass, whisk together the yellow cornmeal, oat flour, baking powder, sea salt, and garlic powder.
Add the egg, almond milk, and honey to the dry mixture and stir until a very thick, smooth batter forms.
Dip each hot dog into the glass, rotating to ensure a thick and even coating of batter all the way to the top.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil and place the corn dogs inside, ensuring they do not touch.
Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, turning halfway through, until the coating is golden brown and firm to the touch.
