Garlic Herb Tri-Tip with Rice and Roasted Vegetables
Pan-seared tri-tip steak infused with fragrant garlic and herbs, served over a bed of fluffy brown rice with tender roasted broccoli.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Tri-tip steak
0.5 cup Cooked brown rice
1 cup Broccoli florets
1 tsp Olive oil
2 cloves Garlic
0.5 tsp Dried rosemary
0.5 tsp Dried thyme
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F and prepare the brown rice according to package instructions until warm and fluffy.
In a bowl, toss the broccoli florets with 0.5 tsp of olive oil and half of the sea salt and black pepper.
Spread the broccoli on a baking sheet and roast for 15-18 minutes until the edges are golden and slightly crisp.
Mince the garlic and combine it with the remaining 0.5 tsp olive oil, rosemary, thyme, and the rest of the salt and pepper.
Rub the garlic-herb mixture evenly over all sides of the tri-tip steak.
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak for 4-5 minutes per side until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
Allow the steak to rest for 5 minutes on a cutting board before slicing it thinly against the grain.
Portion the cooked brown rice onto a plate and top with the sliced tri-tip, serving the roasted broccoli on the side.
